“Before Yesterday We Could Fly”: The Afrofuturism Room at The Met

I’m leaving Harlem for the Upper East Side because I’m moving into the Afrofuturism room at the Met. As you can see, my new house has inspiring portraits because “if you can see it you can be it.” We also have a beautiful chandelier that probably should be a necklace and a TV that you can watch from any angle. Get a load of this dress, this is what I’m going to wear while I’m drinking wine on the couch, this is the urn where I’ll keep the ancestors ashes and I’m not even going to redecorate when I move in because the house is the perfect mix of present, along with past, and even the futures. And look, even the wallpaper is giving Black Excellence. Unfortunately, they are not going to let me really move in but for real you should check out “Before Yesterday We Could Fly” which is up right now at The Met.
