“Giants” at the Brooklyn Museum

Watch this mini-review on TikTok or Instagram

Hey Black Stars, this is for anyone living in or visiting New York City between now and July. Giants has finally opened at the Brooklyn Museum and I know y’all have been eager to see this one. There is so much to see in this show that you might have to make multiple trips so just go ahead and buy that membership. It pays for itself in like 1 1/2 visits. The show, titled “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swiss Beatz and Alicia Keys” features work by 38 different artists across the diaspora including names you don’t and ones you can learn. This is an amazing chance to see work by artists across time periods, styles, and media in one place at one time and a great way to celebrate Black History Month every single day. In addition to the art itself, something unique about this show is the little living rooms spread throughout each section where you can chat with your date, look long and hard at a piece, or make a new friend. Plus, one of the pieces will change over the course of the show’s run. Now, if you got a lil coin, there’s Giants merch in the shop so be sure to take a peek in [there] on your way in or out. To hear more about the artists, art collectors, or the art in the show check out my YouTube channel linked on my page. Be sure to pop out to Brooklyn between now and July. Blacklove and starlight, y’all. Stay shining.
