Juneteenth in Harlem

Hey Black Stars – I gotta tell y’all something: Sometimes you are the visual! Sometimes you are the art! This is definitely how I was feeling on Juneteenth – I was in my Glo Rilla t-shirt like Free Da Guys. Free My People Till It’s Backwards. There was a Bar Crawl in Harlem, where the Black Owned Bars were partnering with Uncle Nearest Whiskey to each make their own signature cocktail. There were like 8 stops on the bar crawl – guess how many we got to taste: 2. We’re getting old. My favorite one was at Bixi cuz it came in this little honey bear that you got to keep….but not mine, cuz I lost it at the block party! The Soapbox Presents had a special edition for the holiday and this time the theme was Jazz Age. If I had known, I would’ve dressed the part and showed a little less leg. The music was just right, the crowd was on their positive vibes only, and they had a surprise tap dance performance from the guy who’s going to choreograph the upcoming Louis Armstrong musical. He tapped the stoop down. On the way home the whole block was celebrating – even the sidewalk. We free y’all. Happy Juneeteenth!
