Nike’s 4th Annual Black Community Voices Dinner

I was honored to be invited to Nike’s 4th Annual Black Community Voices Dinner at their New York City Headquarters this year. The evening celebrated legacy, community building, and black excellence.

The dinner featured a performance by the Dance Theatre of Harlem and a panel discussion with executives from the Robin Hood Foundation, the Bronx Community Foundation, and One Love Community Fridge. The discussion was moderated by Brendan Mason on behalf of the Nike Team.

The menu showcased diasporic flavors by design, courtesy of Jeffrey “Chef Jeff” Mourneau; Mourneau’s team also overdelivered on florals and vibrant orange table settings. Attendees held high their glasses of chenin blanc by Michael Lavelle and toasted to the news of Nike’s philanthropic efforts to mitigate the ways in which food insecurity and unemployment affect Black New Yorkers.
