Home: A ‘Coon Chasing, Possum Eating’ Playwright Takes Us Back Down South
I’m gonna lay down my burdens/ down by the river side….fish fry. Roundabout Theatre has brought Samm-Art William’s play “Home” back to Broadway for the first time since 1979. This production is directed by Tony award-winning Kenny Leon and stars a small (but mighty!) cast of Tory Kittles, Brittany Inge, and Stori Ayers. This video essay is a review of “Home” written by Samm-Art Williams in 1979 and recently directed by Kenny Leon. Roundabout Theatre’s Broadway revival of “Home” began in fall 2024.
